Amit Patel & Ishika Seth created Ishami Dance Company from a shared vision of wanting to unify the South Asian performing arts space. With inclusivity, innovation, risk-taking and cultural exchange at its heart, Ishami aims to amplify diverse voices, stories, and histories of the South Asian Diaspora through ethereal and thought provoking performances. With contemporary dance as its foundation, Ishami balances between modern and traditional art forms with a sense of fluidity between dance styles. Keeping this in mind our goal with the visual identity of Ishami was to capture movement in an abstract way while also sharing subtle references to Amit & Ishika’s choreography style and South Asian roots. Together we worked on a logo and color scheme to help define Ishami’s dynamic vision and powerful motto.
